snowboarding 2/16-18/10

these three days, i went snowboarding in Sugarbush Vermont. the conditions of the mountain varied with the area, but it was overall in good condition. i had attempted the terrain and rail park, this time with success. before, i had fallen and injured myself, but this time i had succeeded in what i planned to do, a certain trick that i had practiced at my house when there was snow on the ground.

greek club 2/11/10

this week in Greek club we translated a passage that is known for its comedic element in ancient Greece, which depicts a lazy slave. this passage, although selected for a beginner was still difficult fro me, and the new group, to translate. i was able to use my knowledge from previous translations to translate this passage. however, there were new terms and words that i did not know, so now i have to study in order to improve my ability to translate and read greek.

food pantry 1/27/10

this week at the food pantry, we had less people come in than usual. i feel that ther are less people because there were so many the week before whom i helped. by doing this, i think that i am helping them more in this poor economic state.

greek club 1/27/10

this week in Greek club, we are preparing for a quiz that will take place next week. we will be tested on vocabulary that we got this day. i feel that i will be well prepared for this quiz because i have now memorized the pronunciation of all of the Greek alphabet.

food pantry 1/20/10

this week at the food pantry, i noticed that there were less people than usual. this trend may be because there are a few more jobs available, or that they aren't spending as much money on heating since it is warming up for now. i feel that i can see certain trends in the economy by volunteering at the food pantry. also, there are more people who are volunteering to help with the pantry, as well as donating food. i feel that this can be attributed to people feeling compassion and sympathy in this economic state we are in.

greek club 1/7/10

this week in Greek club, we had a special guest who came; he was the first student in the Greek club that graduated in 2005. he is now a language major and he showed us how Greek was suppose to be pronounced and how it sounds. Greek had now gotten harder to me with the pronunciation, but i think that i can do it if i spend some time learning the accent and breathing marks.
